Each month, The Right Way newsletter celebrates the incredible achievements, partnerships, and growth happening across Youth Opportunity programs nationwide. From hands-on learning and community service to mentorship and mental health support, every story highlights our mission: Right Youth, Right Place, Right Time… The Right Way.
The October 2025 edition features inspiring stories of transformation and teamwork, including:
🐴 Healing Through Horses: Youth at Ocala Youth Academy are discovering confidence and empathy through the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s Second Chances Equine Program, caring for retired racehorses while learning patience and responsibility.
🛠️ Hands-On Learning: Ocala youth also completed a seven-week Basic Construction Course in partnership with GOVSPHERE, gaining valuable technical and vocational skills that prepare them for future career paths.
❤️ Community Engagement: At Roane Youth Academy, youth stepped up to assist elderly and disabled residents with home clean-ups, learning compassion, accountability, and the power of giving back.
🎤 Mentorship That Matters: Broward Youth Treatment Center and Silver Springs Youth Academy continue to benefit from The VERB Kind mentorship program, which helps youth express themselves and develop leadership skills through creative reflection.
🥾 Outdoor Adventures: Youth from Elizabethton Youth Academy explored the Appalachian Trail, embracing teamwork, mindfulness, and personal growth along the way.
Each of these stories reflects our ongoing commitment to empower youth through structure, compassion, and opportunity — helping them build the confidence and skills to thrive long after they leave our care.
